Friends of Open Door Youth Services (Friends) is a a 501(c)(3) supporting organization of Open Door Youth Services  (Open Door).  Open Door Youth Services, formerly The Floyd County Youth Services Bureau, was established in 1982 as a shelter for troubled children and youth.  Since its formation in 1982, Open Door has grown to offer numerous programs to youth ages 5 to 21 including residential services, after-school programs, diagnostic and evaluation services, child abuse prevention awareness and education, and community education on issues affecting children and youth.

ongoing needs

Many times residents in our facility arrive with only a few items packed in a trash bag. Some come to Open Door with nothing at all. These items can be purchased from our Amazon wish list and delivered to our door with just a few clicks or purchased elsewhere and dropped off at our facility.

Gym Remodel

Thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible community members and the generous grant given to us by The Caesars Foundation of Floyd County, we are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the long-awaited renovations on our beloved gym!
